The dog in the above photo is one of Animal Care and Control of NYC's media dogs. Many news stations and newspapers covered her story of being thrown in a manhole.
She was rescued by a heroic Police Officer who had to crawl through electrical wires to bring her to safety. A local rescue group, For Our Friends, arranged for her medical care and boarding with the hope of finding her a loving home.
Initially no one wanted to adopt her because she was mistaken as a pit bull. Flower is a Whippet/Basenji cross. She now lives in a mansion with a woman named Flora and wears a collar made of rhinestones.
In honor of Flower adopt a dog from For Our Friends, Inc. today!
