UPDATE! Thanks to the wonderful Emelinda of Earth Angels Rescue a wonderful home was found for darling Scooby. Scooby nows lives with a couple in New Jersey : ) They LOVE him very much.

Meet Scooby. Scooby is a 3 year old neutered male American Staffordshire Terrier up to date on all his shots. He was born March 17, 2005 and currently weighs 60 pounds.

Scooby is not a shelter dog. His owner is keeping him with her until a home is found. His owner writes:

"Scooby is a loveable 3 year old pitbull. He is white with brown spots. He loves long walks and cuddling. He is a very friendly dog and loves to be around people.

I love Scooby very much but I am a new single mother and between long hours at work and a new baby I am not able to give him the attention and the care that he deserves. I also want to make sure he is in a good home with caring people.

When I bought Scooby from the pet store he was a little sick. The vet told me that he had pneumonia and he probably would have died in a few days. I always thought it was a miracle that I went into the pet store that day. I know he was in my life for a reason. Now I just hope that he can be your miracle too."

Scooby's adoption requirements include a foster application and contract to sign, previous responsible ownership of the breed (or similiar breeds), a veterinary reference and a home check. Following a successful one week to one month trial foster period an application to make the adoption permanent can be filled out. Apartments and townhouses are O.K., but home owners must have a securely fenced yard. The $100.00 adoption fee (payable to a not-for-profit dog rescue organization of your choice and/or any rescue organization instrumental in helping find Scooby a good home) saves lives by cutting out the profit motive that would make Scooby desirable to "bunchers". Bunchers often try to adopt dogs and sell them to labs..
